'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

The evidence is undeniable why Arsenal have become countless pundits' preferred choice to secure the Premier League this season.

Consider their results against Newcastle and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have defeated all of them in the current season, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Backline

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title target.

They stand first for shutouts (6), shots let in (3), attempts against (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but competing clubs still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Title Potential

What is particularly remarkable about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they keep winning, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side second top scorers in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and resolve.
