From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can expect learning which characters will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
